AGRO works to support graduate students working in the field of agrochemicals and related topics by providing opportunities to attend ACS Nationals Meetings and to become involved with AGRO activities.
2016 AGRO Education Awards for Student Travel
Co-Sponsored by Bayer
Proposals are sought for the 2016 awards. Selected undergraduate and graduate students will be awarded up to $600 each to help defray costs of attendance to give poster and oral presentations at the 252nd ACS National Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania August 21-25, 2016. First, Second, and Third place winners in the poster competition will receive an additional cash award. Please see the application form below for more details.
NEW in 2016!
- Student posters will not be sequestered in a single award session. Students should submit their short abstracts in the AGRO (poster) symposium of their choice.
- Graduate students who have previously attended scientific meetings AND are in or nearing their last year of graduate school are encouraged to do an oral presentation instead of a poster. Please contact the organizers at firstname.lastname@example.org to determine if you are eligible before submitting an abstract.
The deadline for applications has been extended to March 25, 2016. Applications for Student Travel Awards should be submitted to email@example.com. A sample extended abstract is provided below. Students should also submit a regular short abstract via the ACS website as well prior to the March 25 deadline.
The subject of the presentation should pertain to the chemistry of the AGRO Division. Topics should relate to pest management chemistry including synthesis, metabolism,
regulatory, biotechnology, delivery, risk assessment, resistance, residues, mode of action, fate/behavior/transport, and agronomic practices.
