WEBINAR RECORDING: Innovation in the Discovery of Novel Insecticidal Modes of Action

Presented: June 8, 2022

Presenter: Dr. Frank Wessels, Global Insecticide Resistance Expert, Crop Protection Discovery and Development, Corteva

Moderator: Tom Sparks, Agrilucent

To delay the development of insect resistance to insecticides, effective insect control in agricultural systems requires access to a robust suite of control tools.  Regular innovation in insect control solutions is essential to ensure that a variety of these tools continue to be available.  Over the past 50 years, there has been continuous progress in the development of innovative insecticide technologies with novel modes of action.  The past decade has been no exception.  There has been a recent uptick in the discovery of insecticides with novel modes of action classified by the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC).  Interestingly, three of the five most recent IRAC modes of action do not contain traditional synthetic organic insecticides.  Are these recent developments indicative of a new trend in insecticide development?  Come learn more about the current state of insecticide development and some of the new technologies that are just beginning to become available.
